Training methods

We will not use any training equipment or method that causes pain, discomfort, intimidation, fear or anxiety such as but not limited to e-collars, prong collars, choke chains, citronella/’bark’ collars, spray bottles and shaker cans.

Training results

I understand that training and behaviour change takes time, repetition and patience and outcomes depend on many factors including owner consistency. The trainer makes no guarantees regarding outcomes.

Accurate disclosure of information

I agree that all information provided about my dog(s) is accurate and up to date, including but not limited to health, behaviour and bite history. I agree to inform the trainer of any changes to the dogs condition. I understand that the trainer cannot be held responsible for any issues arising from incomplete or inaccurate information. I confirm my dog is fit to participate in training and free from any known contagious illness.

Pre-existing and hereditary conditions

I understand that the trainer cannot be held responsible for injury, illness, or physical conditions that existed prior to training, whether known or unknown at the time, or for the natural progression or recurrence of such conditions, including hereditary or developmental issues. If I have concerns about my dog’s health, I will seek advice from a qualified veterinary professional.

Payments

Payment is to be made in full at the time of booking. All payments are non-refundable.

Cancellations

Client cancellations in advance of 24 hours will be credited towards a future session. No-shows or client cancellations within less than 24 hours will not be eligible for a refund or credit towards a future session. If the trainer cancels due to illness, emergency or unsafe conditions, the session will be rescheduled.

Lateness

Clients are asked to arrive on time for all scheduled sessions. A 10-minute grace period will be allowed; after this time, the session may be shortened accordingly to avoid impacting other appointments. If the client is more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, the session may be cancelled and the full session fee may still apply. Every effort will be made for the trainer to arrive on time. However, delays can occasionally occur due to traffic, public transport disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances. Clients will be informed as soon as possible if the trainer is running late, and session time will be adjusted or rearranged where appropriate.

Hot weather

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing always comes first. During hot weather, the trainer reserves the right to shorten sessions, adjust activities, change location, move sessions to an earlier time, or reschedule sessions where necessary at no cost to the client. Any adjustments will depend on the weather conditions and the individual dog, including their breed, age, and health. Clients should ensure their dog has access to fresh water and inform the trainer of any medical conditions that may affect them in warmer weather.

Client responsibilities & acknowledgement of risk

I understand that I am solely responsible for the actions and behaviour of my dog(s) at all times, whether on or off lead, and I agree to assume full legal, moral and financial responsibility for any accidents, injury or damage caused to people, other animals or property. I acknowledge that dogs are animals and may react unpredictably, including biting, jumping or causing injury despite reasonable precautions, and that dog training involves inherent risks such as slips, bites, collisions or other accidents, even when reasonable care and precautions are taken. I accept these risks and agree to hold the trainer harmless. In the event of an emergency, I authorise the trainer to seek veterinary care for my dog(s) if necessary, and I agree to cover any associated costs.

Image usage

I give permission for photos/videos taken during training to be used for advertising, educational material or promotional purposes, unless I have specifically informed the trainer in writing that I do not consent.

Additional advice

Opinions given on matters outside of core services (for example but not limited to diet, nutrition, vaccines and physical health) are personal opinions only. For any health queries please consult your vet or relevant professional. We are happy to refer you to a professional if required.

Insurance

The trainer holds public liability and professional indemnity insurance covering training activities.
